Dean Williams a producer, influencer, entrepreneur, risk taker and actor, so we though it’d be a good idea to speak to him.

I had a strange route into acting really, I started off as a stunt performer, which led to fight choreographer to stunt coordinator then as I got more confident in front of camera I did some acting. As I worked out how all the cogs worked on set I then did some producing which ultimately led to running a festival.

I first worked with Kevin and Rotunda Films back in 2004,  I’d only worked on a couple of films in Brighton and Hereford so was keen to meet up and work with more local (Birmingham) directors and Kevin’s name came up within the local scene. I worked on his first feature film, Idol of Evil 14 years ago!

In the UK Superhero Project I play Speedstar, a former race car driver who is blessed with incredible reflexes. I won’t give too much away but let’s just say that being fast sure does help fight crime. It’s a great role though because although my stunt and combat skills come in handy, that’s not who the character is and it will be exciting and challenging to play someone discovering their skills.

Like me, Speedstar is strong both physically and mentally with a bit of confidence. He has a sense of humour with an unbelievable back story! I am hoping that as Kevin knows me so well that the character will have some nice chunks of action for me to get my teeth stuck into and that my character can have a big enough part in the whole UKSHP universe that I can appear in the bigger story that I know he’s planning.

From what I've seen so far from the shooting of Mystic Highway (and a few sneak peek scenes) we have a really amazing universe in the works.

I’m not so much a comic book fan but I do really love the Marvel and DC projects out there. Think I’ve watched now every single film and tv series there is. So I guess when it comes to the small and big screens I’m a bit of a geek. I think that DC kind of edge it on the TV shows, with probably Arrow and Flash my favourites but Marvel have it really sewn up the the cinematic universe,  I have just recently watched the epic Infinity War a couple of times the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy are totally amazing films. I got to have a small scuffle with Dave Bautista (Drax) on a film to be released in September and I can say what a top bloke, he took plenty of time hanging out with the stunt guys a real nice guy as was Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange) when I had a punch up with him on a movie a few years ago.

I hope people do support the UK Superhero Project as it would be great to have some home grown heroes on the big screen.
